What We Do
"William’s wide experience of engineering & product development put him in the ideal position to maximise our R&D claims. He backs that up with the financial capabilities to present the claim effectively to HMRC and the work was hugely valuable to us – over £300k in all"

We have a 100% success rate for our clients
WOCO specialises in helping small and medium sized businesses to claim the R&D tax credits they are entitled to, but so often fail to make the most of.
Starting the business in 2013, William O'Brien was struck by the number of businesses missing out on what is probably the most generous corporation tax allowance in the UK. With over 20 years' experience as a scientist & engineer, plus corporate finance and SME board experience he is ideally placed to maximise R&D claims across a wide range of companies.
Working with businesses
Our focus is always on making the process simple and convenient, and we try to do as much of the claim for you as possible. This includes analysing the costs, writing the detailed report for HMRC and working directly with your accountants to smooth the process of making a claim. We do like to meet face to face with you to conduct the R&D review, as this often helps us to spot areas of work that might qualify for a claim that had not previously been considered. We work hard to make the time you spend with us really count, and we are often told that the couple of hours spent in the review meeting were the most productive time in the entire year!
Working with accountants
Most accounting firms recognise the need for specialist expertise when putting R&D tax credit claims together, and our work is usually done in partnership with client's existing accountants to allow them to offer a more comprehensive corporation taxation service.
We have developed good working relationships with accountants all over the UK, and we offer a generous fee sharing arrangement in recognition of the additional value obtained for our mutual clients by working together.
